Are you seriously giving Ishida shit because he “dared” use dark themes like sexual abuse and domestic violence in his fucking work?

No, seriously now, what did you think TG was about? Its entire concept is based on dark and psychological themes. What did you think you were reading, a shoujo manga?

Just because your favorite character is going through a traumatic event it doesn’t give you the right to shit on sensei’s work, calling everything you don’t agree with “bad writing” because it hurts your feelings. And dragging him for “going too far”????? like?????? what?????? Yeah, I’m sorry he’s writing about bad things that happen in real life to many people. Real world is shitty like that and just because you choose to turn a blind eye and avoid everything related to it, it doesn’t make it less shitty. It seems you’re forgetting really simple things and just say whatever because you special snowflakes can’t deal with reality issues.

Tokyo Ghoul is a psychological seinen, it’s not Naruto. People don’t always get saved.

TG is Ishida’s manga. It’s his story and his characters. You have no control over what he writes about and you shouldn’t have. It makes me sick when authors twist their stories to please their audience and in that process they ruin their characters or even worse, their entire work. Ishida-sensei managed not to go there yet (maybe with few, almost unnoticeable exceptions) and I’m really thankful for that.

It’s good to voice your disagreement, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but there’s a limit you shouldn’t cross and that is going and harass Ishida-sensei on social media or wherever just ‘cause you don’t know how to appreciate his work. You’re not warriors of justice, you’re just ungrateful bitches.

The truth was spoken.

The more TG advances, the more I appreciate Sui Ishida’s choice to keep his identity a secret. He has been ever so bravely raising serious questions about dark real life issues in a way not every author can–he ‘goes there’ without fear, becomes the voice of the abused and the hurt and the ‘silent’ victims of all kinds, representing the complexity of sanity, relationships, and various genders and sexuality.

Sui Ishida chooses to be faceless so he can be the voice of many.

And i love him for that. So much.
